This is a charming room over the porch looking onto the cedar trees planted by Walter Marshall in 1881. Decorated in Toile de Jouy in cream and coral with a half tester 5?6? bed. The room has a small writing table, a small two-seater sofa and a freestanding wardrobe. A very pretty bathroom fitted out with marble tiles and vanity top (9?0? x 5?9?) large bath and stand up shower, with a little window overlooking cedar trees.
A medium sized room with a large bay window overlooking the gardens and Rutland Water. The walls are fabric lined in caramel coloured linen with matching curtains, having two comfortable chairs, 6? bed and a breakfast/writing table. The marble bathroom (7?3? x 8?0?) has good lighting and most of the walls are mirrored. It has a good fixed shower over the bath as well as a hand shower. There is one step up into the bathroom.
A spacious room on the second floor with a superb view of Rutland Water. It is approached through a private corridor and so is probably the quietest room in the house. Equipped with two wing armchairs, a breakfast/writing table and a dressing table. Decorated in pale blue with hand embroidered curtains and headboard. Marble bathroom – size 10?9? x 11?6?.
Our second biggest room in the main house has wonderful southerly views across the gardens and Rutland Water. A very sunny room, where walls are papered in Chinese 18th century design in blues and cream. The 6? wide bed has a French 19th century corona with pale blue curtains. There are two comfortable armchairs, either side of a breakfast table in the window. Middlehurst has one of our largest marble bathrooms (11?6? x 14?6?) with a twin washbasin, a mirrored wall, a good shower and a large bath. Can be let in conjunction with Blue with inter-connecting doors – making it perfect for families. There is a pretty dressing table with large mirror
